What is „TheaterLiteraTour“ ?
 

Surely now the question comes up what „TheaterLiteraTour“ is. I would like to start with my own story, because it laid the foundation for this project.

Already in my youth I was confronted with the topic of mourning and illness due to the illness of my father, whom I accompanied to different hospitals for years, and due to the early death of my mother. Losing one’s parents young is a drastic experience that shapes one’s entire life. From this moment, my intention to support patients in hospitals with my creative work took more and more shape. It is a matter close to my heart to take patients out of their gloomy and sad everyday life in hospital and to give them back their joy of life.

Through my work as a drama teacher and day-care teacher, I gained decades of experience with children. In the process, I noticed that children in particular suffer greatly when they themselves or people close to them have a serious illness and have to be cared for in hospital for a long time.

That’s why my project „TheaterLiteraTour“ is primarily aimed at children who have to be cared for in a hospital. Children are very anxious and need a lot of time, care and attention to gain confidence in a new environment and to feel joy of life again. „TheaterLiteraTour“ aims to help children in difficult situations to forget their worries and give them merriment. After all, the greatest happiness is to put a smile on children’s faces and see them feel joy and hope again.
