About TheaterLiteraTour

The basis of „TheaterLiteraTour“ are staged readings of my book, which are presented to ill children in hospital.

The reading of the book is accompanied by theatrical elements and music, which underline the action. The reader of the children’s book „Skara and the Comet Shards“ slips into the main role of the magical girl Skara. The fairy-tale heroine dives into her magical world with the children, where they embark on fun and exciting adventures together. The children can determine the course of the story by their own decisions and are thus actively involved. My book tells of life, joy, hope and also hardship. With the heroes from the fairy tale, the listening children walk the perilous path towards the good end without fear. This strengthens their trust in their own strength, which promotes the healing process.

The reading includes elements from fairy tale life, which the reader shows to the children. The comet shards, for example, which the reader uses during the story, are for the children to keep. They are meant to be a talisman and encouragement for them.

The second book is part of another project planned in parallel with „TheaterLiteraTour. In this story, the protagonist, who is now an adult, recounts her experiences in retrospect. This project is aimed at older children and young people.

Accordingly, theater pedagogy on the pediatric ward not only serves to cheer up, distract and activate, but also has the possibility to support typical hospital processes, such as anamnesis and diagnosis, and to make them more pleasant for the child.

Initially, the project will start with stories for children, from small kids to about 10 years old.

In the course of the project, stories for young people will also be created, in which the protagonist Skara talks about her adventures in retrospect. Young people will also be actively involved in this part of the project. Discussions are to take place on moving topics, such as lovesickness or the strengthening of one’s own self-confidence. Furthermore, workshops are planned in which cooperating youth centers and youth houses will be visited. With these young adults, for example, theater performances can be made or hospitals can be visited with young people.

TheaterLiteraTour is to be an ongoing project and accompany the children over several years. The constantly rewritten stories are read aloud during several visits.
